ABOUT STARHAUS

ART, DESIGN & A LOVE OF BEAUTIFUL THINGS

I'm Estelle, the artist and designer behind Starhaus Studio, based in the East Midlands.

My creative background began with a degree in Woven Textiles and has taken me through product design, print, illustration and interiors. I've spent more than a decade working across design and product development, working with colour, materials, pattern and production — experiences that continue to influence the way I approach my paintings today.

Oil painting has become a way for me to bring all of those interests together.

I'm particularly drawn to atmosphere and character: the expression in an animal's eyes, the warmth of a familiar room, a particular landscape or the feeling attached to a place. Rather than simply reproducing a photograph, I want each painting to feel lived-in, expressive and personal.

THE STUDIO

Starhaus Studio is a small independent creative studio where I paint original oil paintings and create bespoke commissions alongside my design work.

My inspiration comes from interiors, nature, architecture, people and the everyday details that often become our favourite memories.

I love work that feels collected rather than overly perfect — paintings that sit naturally within a home and become part of its story.

COMMISSIONS

One of my favourite parts of painting is creating something specifically for someone else.

Whether it's a beloved pet, a family portrait, a favourite place or a moment you'd like to remember, commissions give me the opportunity to turn something personal into an original piece of art.

Every painting is created by hand in oil and developed individually, with the aim of capturing not just what something looks like, but something of its character and atmosphere too.
